Vintage Notes
Early rains in the spring help budding vines thrive and 2014 gave us an above average yield. In the third year of a drought in California the berry sizes remained slightly small which in turn gave us concentrated flavors and structure. Slightly less ripe than the 2013 harvest, the 2014 harvest showcased a well-developed balance of acidity and fruit character. Overall, the 2014 harvest will be considered yet another high quality vintage for Napa Valley.

Vineyard Notes
This fruit was sourced from a Yountville Merlot vineyard located down the street from our Tasting Room. A splash of Malbec from the same vineyard and small percentage of Petit Verdot from Pope Valley help add complexity.

Tasting Notes
Aromatics suggest red fruits, earthy components, spices and mocha notes. On the palate we note black raspberries, red currants wrapped in cocoa powder and cinnamon. The finish shows extended bright fruit and tannin structure giving this wine a lingering finish.
