The second release of our highly-acclaimed Diamond Mountain Cabernet.

The 2006 vintage is our second release of our Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon, a member of our Mountain Cabernet Series. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon grown exclusively on Diamond Mountain, with heavier volcanic clay hillside soils, this wine derives its character from this distinctive microclimate. Our winemaker, Marco DiGiulio, has years of experience in producing award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon from this sub-appellation.

Our 2006 vintage offers lush blackberry, brambleberry and kirsch at the beginning, with hints of spice and minerality layered throughout. Extended maceration ensures soft, integrated tannins. This full-bodied Cabernet is approachable now with proper decanting, and should age well for 15-20 years. 781 cases produced.

Winemaker Notes:	At harvest-time, the fruit is triple hand-sorted, ensuring only the best of the best make it into the fermentation tanks. Native yeast kicks off the fermentation, allowing natural indigenous flavors, aromas and varietal characteristics to be passed on to the wine. After primary fermentation, the wine was put through extended maceration to provide softer tannins and the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in the barrel. Aged 24 months in 90% new French oak, then bottled unfined and unfiltered.
