| 2007 Harvest Report - Marco is very pleased! We couldn't get winemaker Marco DiGiulio's actual declaration past the censors, but let's just say he views this year's harvest as outstanding! "One of the best harvests I've seen in a number of years, with regard to quality." During the last week of October, the final grapes came into the winery for crush. The total tonnage was down from last year, and this was true for most wineries in the Napa Valley, but everyone seems to be very pleased with the quality of the fruit.  The Napa Valley experienced an almost perfect growing season this year; a dry, gradually warming Spring, followed by a Goldilocks' porridge type of Summer - not too hot, not too cold. The early-fall rain showers helped wash the dust off the grape clusters and the rainy days were followed by sun-filled, breezy days that kept the bunch-rot monster away. On the right, you see Marco touring one of the vineyards on a bike loaned to him by Al Gore whilst Marco's Prius Hybrid was having its flux-capacitor tuned up. So, we have grape juice fermenting, wine aging in barrels and grape vines all bundled up for a (hopefully) rainy Napa Valley Winter. top  |
 2004 Artistry
Quarterly Review of Wines said the 2003 vintage of our Artistry, Bordeaux-style blend, was Outstanding and deserved to be in a class by itself, giving the wine 5 out of 5 stars. Girard vintner Pat Roney, in a totally unbiased and impartial moment, has deemed the 2004 vintage even better! Vintage comparisons are of course subjective to the consumer, so we guess you'll just have to buy some of the '04 Artistry and judge for yourself. top  2006 Russian River Chardonnay Visitors to the tasting room have been raving about our latest Chardonnay release.
