2002 Cabernet Franc
91 POINTS
Dry and firm and well-structured, this Cab Franc offers a complex array of fruit, herb, earth and oak notes, and that elusive drink-me-again quality.

92 POINTS - 100 Best Wines of 2005
Ripened past franc's quirky herbal tones and caught at a moment when the flavors are still fresh, this wine has a dark, forest berry flavor and purity to its fruit. The texture is more voluptuous than cabernet franc usually offers, with merlot (10 percent) and small amounts of cabernet sauvignon, malbec and petit verdot rounding it out. The wine feels polished, lasting, with succulent raspberry tones embedded in the gentle tannins. A beauty for now or eight years from now. (381 cases)
- Wine & Spirits Magazine, June, 2005
An immense, deeply concentrated style supported by robust tannins. Core flavors are built around fresh earth, ripe plum and lead pencil (complete with shavings), giving it a rather chewy, rustic, tannic aftertaste. Best from 2007 through 2014.
