2006 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
91 Points, Year's Best - Top 6 Sauvignon Blanc
Girard 2006 Sauvignon Blanc - This wine's brisk citrus flavors edge toward tangelo or pomelo. It's clean and fresh, its fat texture edged in bright lemon zest. A mouthwatering white to chill for grilled snapper or sea bass.
- Wine & Spirits, August 2007
87 Points - Wine Spectator, August 31, 2007
Citrus flavors take an herb and japapeƱo detour, which adds to the complexity. Juicy and refreshing, with a grass and lime finish. Drink now. 15,650 cases made.
2005 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
89 Points, Exceptional Value
Girard 2005 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc - This grassy sauvignon has green citrus flavors that cut its fleshy, fat texture. Serve it with sushi.
- Wine & Spirits, June 2006
Good Value - One Puff
Fresh, fruity and charged with plenty of unabashed grassiness in both its intense aromas and medium-deep flavors, this bottling is refreshing and briskly balanced, but it is also nicely structured and does not succumb to stark acidity. Its cleansing style makes it a fine match for sundry shellfish and milder, white-fleshed fish dishes, yet it has sufficient fruity substance to succeed equally well with simple poultry. It is well worth its moderate price.

Wine Editor's Pick
This wine is reminiscent of the best from New Zealand yet has it own "California kick." It is fresh, fruity and charged with plenty of unabashed grassiness in its intense aromas and medium-deep flavors. Refreshing and briskly balanced, but also nicely structured, its cleansing style makes it a fine match for sundry shellfish and milder, white-fleshed fish dishes, yet it has sufficient fruity substance to succeed equally well with simple poultry.

2004 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Best Value - 89 Points
Delivers crisp intensity to lemon-lime, grass and quince flavors. A burst of tart citrus acidity, apple and grapefruit-rind notes carry through a lingering finish. Drink now through 2006.
- Wine Spectator, August 31, 2005
89 Points
Brisk, brash, fresh and squeaky clean, this youthfully exuberant wine is perhaps a little on the simple, slightly grapey side of the spectrum, but we have no complaint about either its juicy fruit or its zesty balance. It would be a great joy as a mate to lighter white fishes grilled with a little butter over the next year or two. GOOD VALUE $15.00

"The 2001
Girard Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most food-friendly whites
I've sampled in weeks. Produced from two vineyards in
California's Napa Valley, this wine has a subtle taste with a
crisp finish.
Although the best complement to this winning
white fresh-shucked oysters on the half-shell, it's also
well-suited to fried oysters, steamed clams and paella."
