2005 Artistry Proprietary Blend

Our 2005 Artistry is a proprietary blend of 5 Bordeaux-varietal grapes. The varietals and percentages will change from year to year, with a goal of keeping the wine consistent in quality and style. The 2005 vintage is a brilliantly-colored, dark garnet wine with aromas of baked cherries, dark plum, lavender, cinnamon, allspice and freshly cut herbs. There are also hints of tobacco, leather and toasted pecan. On the palate, this smooth-textured wine offers a full-mouth, medium bodied feel. The firm tannins are very well integrated, making the wine elegant and approachable at an early age. There are multiple layers to this complex blend that reveal themselves through decanting or by giving the wine time to open up in the glass.
The blend consists of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 14% Petite Verdot, 9% Malbec and 1% Merlot. 100% Napa Valley fruit coming from Oakville, Yountville and St. Helena, using a combination of hillside and valley floor vineyards. Total cases made: 5,294.
Winemaking:
Our grapes were hand sorted and gently crushed. We used native yeast for fermentation and the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in the barrel. After primary fermentation the wine went through an extended maceration period to soften the tannins in the wine. The wine was aged 22 months in French oak and then bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Girard 2006 Petite Sirah, Napa Valley

This wine is reserved for those wishing to show off their purple teeth! Visually opaque with inky, jet blue and ruby red coloring. The aromas offer black cherry, blueberry, mocha and lilac. Our 2006 Petite Sirah is full-bodied and its layers and complexity will please all portions of the palate. Extended maceration after primary fermentation provides well-integrated tannins and a silky, smooth finish to this massive wine.
All of the fruit we use to make this wine comes from the small clone Petite Sirah, which we believe delivers richer concentration and brighter flavors. These century-old vineyards are all in Calistoga, where the warmer climate and rich soils provide great depth of character to our Petite Sirah. The blend is 87% Petite Sirah and 13% Rhone-varietal century-old field blend. 4,318 cases produced.

Girard 2006 Old Vine Zinfandel, Napa Valley

The vineyard sources for our 2006 Old Vine Zinfandel are the Blue Ridge and Morgan vineyards on Mt. Vaca, as well as the Godward Vineyard in Calistoga. Mt. Vaca is the highest peak of the Vaca range, which forms the Eastern border of the Napa Valley. Many of the vines from both the Zinfandel vineyards and Mixed Blacks vineyard are over a century old. The fruit concentration from these mountain vineyards and the century-old valley floor vineyards ensure our Old Vine Zinfandel has rich flavor extraction, a fruit-forward palate and wonderful layers of complexity from multiple soil types.
The 2006 vintage is full-bodied yet silky smooth wine, and presents a dark cherry-red color. The aroma and palate profile includes dark cherries, lush blueberries and ripe plums. Spices, cedar and anise round out the aroma profile. Thanks to extended, cold maceration, the tannins are quite soft and well integrated. The blend is 77% Zinfandel and 23% Mixed Blacks Rhone Blend. 3400 cases were produced.

Bright, fresh, clean and crisp. The perfect wine for lighter seafood and chicken dishes, green salads or serve as an Apéritif. Lovely pear and tropical aromas on the nose with crisp grapefruit and citrus flavors on the palate.
We picked the fruit fully ripe to provide classic tropical, citrus and floral aromas with a lighter mouth feel and excellent acidity. This all adds up to an extremely food friendly wine that is just as enjoyable on its own.
100% Sauvignon Blanc made from three vineyards in the Napa Valley. Our primary vineyards are our own St. Helena vineyard and Morgan Ranch, at the base of Mt. Vaca, which is well known for growing outstanding Sauvignon Blanc fruit.
