Vineyard Notes
In spite of the drought and the South Napa earthquake, we consider the 2014 vintage in Napa Valley a high-quality vintage producing wines with depth of flavor and excellent character. Even with drought concerns the weather was near perfect and we were fortunate with an abundant crop. These century old vines ripened at an even pace producing welldeveloped fruit character and bright acidity.

Vintage Notes
The Vineyard, perched atop Soda Canyon road is rocky and volcanic in nature. This mountain-influenced vineyard enjoys daytime temperatures 10 degrees cooler on average than the valley floor below, affording extended hang-time and supple fruit with balanced acid, sugar and flavor at harvest.

Tasting Notes
The aromatics hint at red cherry, mocha and licorice. On the palate, the bright acidity and lively tannins are both complex and harmonious. Flavors of blackberry, dark cherry, cassis and cocoa powder lead to a bold, elegant finish which coats the entire palate.
