Vintage Notes
Early rains in the spring help budding vines thrive and 2014 gave us an above average yield. In the third year of a drought in California the berry sizes remained slightly small which in turn gave us concentrated flavors and structure. Slightly less ripe than the 2013 harvest, the 2014 harvest showcased a well-developed balance of acidity and fruit character. Overall, the 2014 harvest will be considered yet another high quality vintage for Napa Valley.

Vineyard Notes
This Yountville vineyard source has been the main Malbec component in our red wine blend, Artistry, for the past decade. We are impressed every year by how the vineyard’s fruit components add a mid-palate juiciness to the blend, making this valley floor vineyard a favorite among the cellar team at Girard.

Tasting Notes
The nose opens with bright red fruit notes with layered spice, mocha, and a touch of vanilla. The palate shows bright red to dark fruit with hints of jammy sweetness and a midpalate lift of blackberry pie ending in earthy notes of cedar and cocoa.

About this Wine
A key component in our signature blend, Artistry, the Malbec varietal is rarely bottled on its own. This is a unique opportunity to try Napa Valley Malbec and see what it brings to our flagship blend.
