Vintage Notes
2016 was another near perfect growing season with idyllic weather throughout the year. Harvest was a bit earlier than usual, and yields were balanced. Most importantly, the quality of fruit was once again impressive, marked by complex aromatics and flavors. Another stellar vintage for the North Coast.

Vineyard Notes
Sourced from cooler-climate vineyards in the North Coast region, this Grenache is a special project by winemaker, Glenn Hugo specifically crafted for our most loyal Girard fans, and can only be found in our Tasting Room, as a perk of Wine Club membership, and online in small quantities.

Tasting Notes
Bright red fruit on the nose, with hints of candied raspberry and cinnamon spice. The palate leads with raspberry jam, laced with delicate notes of oak-vanillin, and spicy cracked black pepper. The bright acidity plays well with the refined tannins, ensuring an elegantly structured, food friendly sipper.

About This Wine
The fruit for this wine was first sourced for Glenn's personal wine project. We were able to coax some from his “stash” to produce just enough to whet the palate. A perennial favorite, this doesn't last long and when it's gone, it's gone.
