Vintage Notes
The 2016 vintage for Napa Valley remained on track with previous years in terms of smaller yields of slightly smaller clusters. The quality of the lower yields remained high, in spite of early concerns about the few heat spikes during early summer months. Fortunately, cooler August temperatures slowed ripening to a luxurious pace which allowed us to harvest each parcel at optimal ripeness.

Vineyard Notes
The fruit for this Petite Sirah was sourced from old-vine plantings in Calistoga and Pope Valley areas of the Napa Valley, where a myriad of soil types coupled with warmer temperatures help the grapes develop balance and complexity.

Tasting Notes
The nose opens with aromas of coffee, jasmine and bramble fruit with a savory hint of smoke. The palate is laden with jammy blackberry and fig preserve flavors spiced up with white pepper, clove and cinnamon. The tannins are bold, ripe and integrated, creating a lingering and mouth-coating finish.

Composition
93% Petite Sirah, 5% Mourvedre, and 2% Zinfandel.
